Ed Peczek is the principal guitar teacher and founder of The Classical Guitar Academy. Ed is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He graduated in 2009 with a BMus(Hons) degree in classical guitar studies.
Ed began playing the classical guitar in 1995 under the guidance of Adrian and Selina Copley of the Stafford Classical Guitar Centre.
He started performing at an early age and won several competitions, including Staffordshire Young Musician of the Year in 2005.
Shortly after graduating from the RCS, he set up an independent guitar school in Glasgow, which quickly became one of the busiest guitar schools in the area. His former guitar students have gone on to gain entry to top music colleges and launch their own careers in the music industry.
Ed currently holds guitar teaching posts at Repton School and Denstone College.
In addition to teaching, Ed Peczek also performs regularly as a classical guitarist around the UK.
Guitar lessons with Ed are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the CGA.
Catherine Brooks is the latest addition to the CGA teaching team.
Catherine began playing classical guitar in 2003 under the tutelage of Tom Meryon, a former student of the legendary David Russell and Carlos Bonell. She is now continuing her classical guitar studies with Ed Peczek at CGA.
In addition to being a trained classical guitarist, Catherine is also a singer-songwriter with a wealth of experience in the UK music scene. She has featured on ‘BBC Introducing’ and ‘TEDX’ and will be performing at Glastonbury next year. Other performance credits include the Cambridge Folk Festival, Bestival and Shambala.
Catherine’s original works have been commissioned for theatre and she performs regularly as part of ‘The People’s Front Room’.
Guitar lessons with Catherine are available on Thursday evenings at the CGA.
