The onset of the coronavirus pandemic has meant we have had to postpone our guitar ensemble rehearsals. Whilst this is not ideal, it does present us with an opportunity… enter the CGA Online Guitar Ensemble!

Here are the rules

Choose a piece – Visit the ‘Guitar Ensemble Music’ page and choose a piece of music to work on from those available.

• Current ensemble members: Please stick to the part given to you at rehearsal first before trying others.
• New ensemble members/everyone else: Feel free to choose any of the parts available!

Tune up – Need I say more?!

Practice, practice, practice! – When you can play along to the accompanying audio tracks fluently and in time, move onto the next step…

Record it – Record a video of yourself playing your part. The golden rules here are:

• Check your tuning!
• You must play along with the accompanying audio track (either the full version or the individual part version)
• You must use headphones to playback the audio (don’t just use your computer speakers as this will bleed into your recording)
• The finished recording must be one single performance (one continuous video), just like you would do in live performance. Please avoid cutting together multiple takes.

Send it – Send your completed video recording to me via WeTransfer (as they may be too large for an email attachment). Recordings can be sent to ed@classicalguitaracademy.co.uk
