Ekajati
Introducing the Miles Henderson-Smith ‘Ekajati’ Guitar. Named after the Tibetan deity Ekajati on account of the colour of the African Blackwood used for the back and sides. Ekajati was the protectress of ‘Revealed Treasure’ traditions, and what a treasure this guitar is.
The European spruce top provides all of the clarity and separation of voices top level players demand from their instrument. It’s perhaps the African Blackwood that delivers the magic in the form of a deep resonance that permeates not only the tone of the bass strings, but across all registers of this guitar. It’s something akin to running the instrument through a fat bottomed tube amp, adding a velvet richness and warmth to this well balanced guitar. The tone is not too disimilar to that found on most Brazilian Rosewood guitars (just without the CITES headaches).
The African Blackwood not only provides tonal richness, but looks stunning too. The oil finish allows the whole instrument to breathe whilst still offering the wood plenty of protection from the elements.
A rich toned guitar that is also well balanced and immensely musical in nature.
