Steve has taken his immensely popular concert model and stripped back the decoration and more time consuming construction tasks, whilst maintaining all of the most important features such as the highest quality tonewoods and of course, his masterful craftsmanship.

Inizio (translating as ‘Start’ or ‘Beginner’ in Italian) is very much an introduction into the world of concert guitars. Steve uses the same top quality woods as those found on his concert and doubletop models. The construction is based on his concert model and therefore the tone, projection and overall character bear striking similarities with those found on his more expensive model (RRP approximately £4,000).

Steve has opted for a pre-built rosette, which cuts down on his own labour time/costs dramatically. He has also chosen simple bindings rather than the more decorative binding and purfling found on his concert model. These have no bearing on the tonal quality of the instrument and have minimal impact on the aesthetic too, making it a wise choice to help reduce the cost.

This is a remarkable guitar, especially considering the price. It offers customers the opportunity to acquire a genuine, high quality concert guitar for around half the price of a typical concert model.
