The Wolfgang Jellinghaus Signature Z is built with double layered top of Western Red Cedar with nomex in the centre. The two cedar tops are meticulously and finely produced to create a thin and resonant soundboard with the most gorgeous of tones.
The neck/body joint combines the construction of the traditional Spanish heel with a free floating fingerboard, inspired by the design that has been in use for violins for centuries. This allows the full resonance of the soundboard by eliminating the ‘squeezing’ of the upper bout. This clever design feature opens up the sound marvellously and allows the player to enjoy the full, unrestricted timbre of the guitars soundboard.
The back and sides of the Signature Z model are made with exquisite Ziricote. Whilst famed for it’s striking aesthetics, Ziricote is also brings a refined darkness to the tone which pairs superbly with the double cedar top.
As with most double top guitars, the sides have been reinforced to push more energy into the soundboard. The sides of the Signature Z model have an external layer of Ziricote and an internal layer of Cypress, similar construction to that which was pioneered by Ramirez in their early 1A / Tradicional guitars (before their sycamore experiments of the 70s/80s).
The built in arm rest provides an extra level of comfort to the player which has become more popular in recent years, and negates the requirement for any ugly aftermarket installations.
A most impressive instrument all round.

“Just received an Amalio Burguet 2M by mail. Arrived, beautifully packed, in superb condition. After tuning had my first acquaintance with it. Lovely tone which I am sure will improve with playing time. Turned the instrument over in my hands for close inspection. First-rate construction under superb high-gloss finish. Thanks for swift supply & responses via email.”

“Been playing guitar since I was 15 (am now 59), bought my first classical guitar in 1985 and recently decided I needed a better one. After some discussion with Ed at the Classical Guitar Academy about all things guitaristic (Ed is very knowledgeable and always enthusiastic) I tried a few of the guitars Ed had in stock. I knew what I was looking for and Ed understood what I was looking for and I have ended up with a superb Antonio Sanchez guitar. I had also tried a few guitars in a few of the mainstream shops but did not get anything like the help and advice I got from Ed – he understands what it’s all about!”
