Guitar Lessons and Classes
There is no formal or official qualification required to teach the guitar in the UK. However, it is possible to obtain other relevant qualifications by passing music degrees, graded exams etc. A degree in music is generally accepted as being a suitable qualification to teach the guitar.
Our guitar teacher, Ed Peczek, has passed a Grade 8 exam in classical guitar and has also graduated with a BMus (Hons) degree in classical guitar studies from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
He has taught privately and as a peripatetic guitar teacher in schools for many years and has a superb track record with getting his students through graded exams and even into careers in the music industry. Several of his students have gone on to study at university/conservatoire level. His guitar students also have a 100% pass rate for classical guitar graded exams.

In short, you generally get what you pay for. Classical Guitar Academy prides itself in providing the very best classical guitar lessons in Derby. We have a conservatoire trained classical guitar teacher with a wealth of teaching experience. Many guitar teachers who offer cheap lessons do so because that’s the value they place on their service. They may not have confidence in their ability to teach effectively which is why they offer cheap lessons. Guitar teachers who offer these lessons may not have the same experience, training or qualifications as we do. Our service cannot be beaten and we offer excellent value for money.
