Model 62

The Genis Prat Model 62 represents a new chapter in the history of the Antonio Picado workshop. Angel Genis and Carlos Prat took over the business from Antonio Picado around a decade ago and are now gradually bringing the guitar range under their own names, beginning with the Model 62 and Concierto models.

Although the name has changed, the Model 62 continues the established design and Spanish guitar-making tradition that earned it an excellent international reputation under the Antonio Picado brand.

This instrument features a carefully selected spruce soundboard with solid Madagascan rosewood back and sides. High-grade materials are used throughout, creating a responsive and dynamic concert guitar with warmth, depth and a distinctly Spanish character.

The spruce top offers sweetness and clarity, while the Madagascan rosewood adds a rich, tonal colour and a powerful bass response. The result is a bold and expressive guitar capable of responding sensitively to the player while retaining the presence expected from a concert instrument.

Previously one of our best-selling Antonio Picado guitars, the Model 62 now carries the Genis Prat name while continuing the craftsmanship, character and reputation for which the workshop has long been known.
