The defining character of this lattice model centres on its sinker cedar soundboard—a remarkable tonewood which possesses a compelling voice. This is cedar that has matured slowly in natural forests before resting underwater for decades, a process that brings a distinctive combination of responsiveness, stability, and tonal depth.
The voice is beautifully balanced and immediately engaging. Trebles are clear and refined, with a bell-like sweetness, while the basses provide depth and a strong, supportive foundation. There is a natural cohesion across the entire range, allowing for clear articulation and a natural sense of expression.
Built on Sangirardi e Cavicchi’s lattice-braced design, the guitar offers confident projection and a composed, musical presence. The sound carries with ease, retaining colour and control throughout.
Developed in collaboration with UK luthier Roy Courtnall Summerfield, the design reflects a considered balance between modern thinking and established tradition. Madagascan rosewood back and sides contribute warmth, richness, and sustain, alongside a striking visual character.
In the hand, the guitar feels immediate and inviting. The neck is comfortably shaped for longer playing sessions, and the response is quick and direct, encouraging a natural connection between player and instrument.
This is an instrument shaped by its materials and guided by a clear musical intention—offering balance, depth, and refinement throughout.
