Award winning Argentinian luthier Alexis Parducci is currently making his first concert guitar for Classical Guitar Academy.

Alexis is a talented and knowledeable guitar maker who’s expertise and impeccable craftsmanship was rewarded with First Prize at the 5th Antonio Marin Montero guitar building competition.

The guitar we have commissioned is a 640mm Torres style guitar made with Cedar top and locally sourced Radal Patagonia back/sides. Whilst lesser known over in Europe, being a local tonewood in Argentina, Radal Patagonia is well known to Alexis and in his experience creates a guitar which has “incredible tone” and “enhances the low frequencies, leaving a deep guitar”. Not only that, is has a gorgeous, high contrast grain which makes for an irresistable looking instrument.

It’s Alexis’ understanding of the Radal Patagonian’s low frequency response that has generated the most excitement here at CGA HQ, as a good Torres style guitar is already renowned for it’s deep resonance. The use of a wood which has a natural affinity with the deep tone of a Torres style build is most tantalising.

Alexis Parducci’s guitar is due to arrive before the end of 2025.

Endorsements and Happy Customers

“I taught Ed Peczek (Director of Classical Guitar Academy) whilst he was a student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He is a fine musician and guitarist with a keen musical insight. Ed is a young man of real integrity who will offer unbiased advice on purchasing a quality instrument. I can think of no one better equipped to direct a centre such as Classical Guitar Academy.”

“We were looking for a guitar for our son but had no idea where to start based on the level he’s working at/age etc. I contacted Classical Guitar Academy for some initial advice and received a detailed email response. More questions followed from our side and Ed took the time to give his thoughts and opinions. Once the order was placed we were kept very much in the loop about expected delivery times. On collection of the guitar, Ed spent time with us and our son had the chance to play a couple of guitars and make an informed final choice! Can highly recommend Classical Guitar Academy for non-pushy, knowledgeable advice with regards to the purchase of a high quality guitar. Local independent seller providing an excellent service – can highly recommend!”

“Just received an Amalio Burguet 2M by mail. Arrived, beautifully packed, in superb condition. After tuning had my first acquaintance with it. Lovely tone which I am sure will improve with playing time. Turned the instrument over in my hands for close inspection. First-rate construction under superb high-gloss finish. Thanks for swift supply & responses via email.”

“Been playing guitar since I was 15 (am now 59), bought my first classical guitar in 1985 and recently decided I needed a better one. After some discussion with Ed at the Classical Guitar Academy about all things guitaristic (Ed is very knowledgeable and always enthusiastic) I tried a few of the guitars Ed had in stock. I knew what I was looking for and Ed understood what I was looking for and I have ended up with a superb Antonio Sanchez guitar. I had also tried a few guitars in a few of the mainstream shops but did not get anything like the help and advice I got from Ed – he understands what it’s all about!”
