Lesson prices

Individual lessons are available in 30, 45 and 60-minute sessions. The same prices apply to adults and children, in the studio and online.

Individual tuition at CGA
DurationPer lesson
30 minutes£22 per lesson
45 minutes£32 per lesson
60 minutes£42 per lesson

Ask which duration is likely to suit your experience, age and goals.

One-off sessions and a programme of regular lessons are both available to discuss. An enquiry does not reserve a recurring time.

Arranging lessons

If you are new to CGA or returning after a break, use the tuition enquiry form to share your playing experience, preferred format and availability. For a child, a parent or guardian should make the enquiry.

Current pupils can contact Ed to arrange their next lesson or request a private booking link. Check the agreed format and location, particularly if you want an online appointment.

A preferred day or time is a request until a booking is confirmed. Keep the confirmation and check the lesson date, time, format, duration and joining or arrival information.

Payment & blocks

Individual lessons are payable on the day of the lesson. Blocks of ten lessons are paid for in advance.

A ten-lesson block expires six months after the first lesson in that block. Please arrange your lessons with that period in mind.

If you choose to stop taking lessons, unused lessons in a block are not refundable. This policy does not limit any statutory cancellation or refund rights that apply, or your rights if CGA cannot provide the agreed service.

Confirm the total, lesson duration, payment method and scheduling before purchasing a block. Contact CGA if anything is unclear.

Changes & cancellations

Please give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Include the pupil’s name, date and time of the lesson so the booking can be identified.

Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice are subject to the full lesson fee. If you miss a lesson without notice, the full fee is also payable.

If you arrive late, the full lesson fee remains payable.

A proposed replacement time is not confirmed until CGA or the booking service confirms it. Contact CGA promptly if a lesson cannot go ahead.

Contract-cancellation rights, where applicable, are separate from changing an individual appointment. Nothing on this page removes your statutory rights.

Studio lessons

Lessons take place by appointment at Classical Guitar Academy, 16 Calder Close, Allestree, Derby, DE22 2SH. Wait for your lesson to be confirmed before travelling.

Bring your guitar and any music or notes you are working from. The studio has teaching materials, music stands and other equipment. If you need help obtaining or choosing a guitar, ask before your first lesson so arrangements can be discussed.

For arrival, parking or access questions, contact CGA before your visit. See In-Person Tuition for more about the studio lesson.

Online lessons

Use a device with a working camera and microphone, a stable internet connection and a place where you can play and hear clearly. Keep the guitar, music and any practice notes within reach.

Confirm the video platform, joining details and time zone for your appointment. If you cannot connect, contact CGA promptly so you can agree the next step.

Recording a lesson requires advance written consent; sending an enquiry or booking a lesson does not grant that consent. See Online Tuition for the teaching approach.

Children & parents

Tuition is available from age six. A parent or guardian arranges lessons and is the contact outside lessons.

Parental attendance is encouraged until the child can confidently be left. For online tuition, the tutor meets a parent or guardian at the first lesson. Agree attendance and collection arrangements directly before the lesson.

The enquiry form asks for a broad age group, not a date of birth, and uses the parent or guardian’s contact details. Please do not include health information or other sensitive details in a general enquiry.

Read Children’s Tuition for more about the teaching approach.

Before you start

You can arrive as a beginner, return with unfinished playing or bring a particular piece you want to explore. A conversation and some playing help identify useful next steps.

Bring any questions you have about practising between lessons. Grades and examinations are optional; your musical goals guide the work.

For an enquiry, use Book a Lesson or email ed@classicalguitaracademy.co.uk. To discuss an existing booking, include its date and time. Read the Privacy Policy for information about enquiry and lesson records.
